A new floral study format

I've been working on flower studies for a couple of years. Until now, I was dissatisfied with both the format and presentation of the series. I’d mostly done close-ups of a single, isolated flower against a white or black background. Some of those images are quite nice, but I couldn’t really see how to proceed towards an extended project within that format. It’s all been done so much already, and I’m not sure that I’d be contributing anything worthwhile.

But, after two years of trial and error, I think I'm finally arriving at a presentation format that I like, and that is (somewhat) more original. The first photograph from this new approach is below. I am refocusing some time and energy towards this project.
